Real Life Experiences with Real Life Dog Training

After being told no by a near by dog school because he  had shown signs of food aggression with his food bowl, I was very disheartened. I was then recommended by a friend to check out Jen, she has been absolutely amazing in our classes working with each dogs individual needs. Korbyn has a strong personality and does not always appreciate strangers, Jen was great and respected his boundaries while helping us learn the class materials. We loved the way Jen taught the different commands, it was a realistic approach to teaching your dog and Korbyn picked it up so quickly! After graduating our first level we immodestly wanted to come back for more! I can’t even put into words how much I have enjoyed the classes and I whole heartedly recommend Jen to any and everyone no matter what your dogs training needs are:)

We came to Jenn's class not knowing if our 8 year old rescue could change his ways and learn to trust us or our friends in our house. We were blown away at what a big difference 10 weeks could make. Nine months ago we made the best decision, and that was to sign Ollie up for Jenn's obedience classes. We're proud to say that we have successfully completed Novice and Intermediate, and not only have we seen a vast difference in Ollie's behaviour, but a difference in ours as well. I wish you could have seen Ollie in our first class. I left frustrated, embarrassed and anxious for our next session. Having a trainer like Jenn changed everything! She is super patient and creates a great and safe environment for you and your pup to learn. She provides you with the tools you need but also isn't afraid to give the handler the gears when necessary (lol). Jenn's classes are not only beneficial, they're fun as well - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jenn for a second!!

Jenn gave me the foundations to have the amazing relationship Logan and I have today! Before Jenn I couldn’t even imagine being able to have a well behaved husky, but thanks to her I get compliments on how well behaved he is every day!
Logan was your typical young husky...full of energy and would go into prey drive at anything that moved (including leaves blowing in the wind). With Jenn’s help Logan has learnt his basic commands and can walk on a leash without pulling (YES it is possible!). I am also happy to say that she was able to help me teach Logan to have a recall, which as we all know can be life changing.
We have completed her Novice class and are currently enrolled in the Intermediate class, soon to be doing the e-collar training as well.
Choosing Jenn as our trainer was the second best decision I ever made (the first being adopting Logan).

Walking our 5 month old puppy was so frustrating. He didn’t listen, he pulled, he dominated our time and a lot of the time we cut the walk very short because of this. After the novice level with Jennifer we are thrilled to be able to enjoy our walks. Our dog now listens when we call him to come, sit, stay, down. Jennifer is a great trainer and our dog is proof she can transform any dog with any challenges.   We’ve recently started the intermediate level with Jennifer and it has been great learning new advanced commands working our way to off leash.

We started with a fearful rescue from the Dominican who was extremely leash reactive with squirrels and terrified of strangers. With Jenn’s help and after the 12 week Novice course at Beyond the Leash Training where Jenn did her apprenticeship, we now have a dog who’s come out of his shell, is great with strangers and will calmly walk by any squirrel - as tempting as they may be. We’re now in advanced training with Jenn at her own academy and we love the challenge it gives our pup. Javi has almost perfect recall (surprising considering his intense prey drive) and the relationship we’ve built with him is amazing. No matter how knowledgeable you think you are in dog behaviour, I highly recommend working with Jenn anytime a new dog is brought into your home. Jenn’s techniques will help you create a healthy bond with your dog, teach you how to read his/her funky body language and set up respectful boundaries — all life saving skills that can turn any fear aggressive and anxious pup into a human and other dog loving goofball. With Jenn at our side, we gave Javi the confidence to have a full and happy life (even if it’s in cold Canada where he has to reluctantly wear a winter jacket and toque).
